Pitt Street Station weekly update - 11 May 2018

Pitt Street North site

From Monday 14 May 2018, depending on weather and site conditions, these works are scheduled at Pitt Street North:
  • Piling works on the Pitt Street side of the site
  • Heritage and archaeological investigations
  • Constructing the acoustic shed
  • Levelling of the site
  • Excavating the temporary shaft - using high impact equipment such as rock hammer attachments on excavators. These works may be noisy
  • Site establishment work for the excavation phase.
Out-of-hours works for the coming week (subject to change depending on weather and site conditions):
  • Deliveries to and from site through this week outside of construction hours as previously notified. Some of these will involve cranage of plant onto site, while some tracking of plant from a trailer onto site or tracking off site onto a trailer to remove plant will be necessary. Noise levels will be kept to a minimum and engines will switched off when machinery is idle.
Activities in coming weeks:
  • Heritage investigations continuing
  • Excavating the temporary shaft
  • Oversize deliveries to site including cranage
  • Constructing the acoustic shed.

  • Site establishment for demolition
  • Internal strip out
  • Constructing scaffolding.
Out-of-hours works for the coming week (subject to change depending on weather and site conditions):

Community enquiries

Our standard work hours are 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays. Respite periods from high noise impact works are regularly scheduled. We understand that many of these activities are noisy but we aim to minimise this disruption where possible. Out-of-hours works involving noisy works will be performed on no more than three nights per week and 10 nights per month at each site.
The project’s 24-hour community phone number is: 1800 171 386. Calls will be answered by our call centre team and passed to our on-call community team member. You will receive a return call from myself or Glenda Hewitt, or one of our community team members unless you have asked not to be called back.
We appreciate your support as we continue this important project.
